Beville May

S. Beville May has pioneered new legal theories, products and services for clients for more than 20 years. After litigating cases for many years, Beville left the practice of law to devote herself to a claims prevention practice. Her consulting firm, Prevent Claims, LLC, helps companies prevent, investigate and resolve lawsuits.
Beville has deep experience in harassment matters. She received national and international acclaim when she tried and won the first hostile work environment sexual harassment case. She also participated in winning cases before the US Supreme Court, the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. She has trained lawyers and human resource professionals around the country how to prevent and investigate sexual harassment charges.
Beville has appeared on national television and radio, and is a popular and dynamic speaker. She has conducted training programs across the country for lawyers, human resource professionals and private audiences on claims prevention topics like harassment prevention, administering leave laws and the like.
A seasoned investigator, Beville has investigated charges of employment discrimination and harassment, as well as financial and securities fraud claims. She has trained investigators for the Judicial Institute of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Administrative agencies and the courts on the strength of her investigative reports have dismissed cases against her clients.
Beville is committed to resolving client matters at the earliest possible juncture using mediation or negotiation skills. She is a volunteer mediator with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission?s National Mediation Program in the Philadelphia District Office. She is also called in to conduct early case assessments and to resolve cases or conflicts via negotiation. She is best known for her negotiated settlement in Broderick v. Ruder where she obtained, among other things, a permanent injunction against the US Securities & Exchange Commission.

Jack Mattera brings 27 years of law enforcement and investigative experience to BK Forensics. As the Chief Operating Officer of BK Forensics, Jack takes an active interest in the oversight and operation of all aspects of the firm. In addition, with his diverse background he has the ability to work in any of the service areas offered. Jack spent 2 1/2 years as the Deputy Director of Public Safety for the Township of Pennsauken. His duties included serving as the commander of the fire department and the coordinator of the Office of Emergency Management. Prior to this, Jack worked first as the Vice President of a regional consulting and intelligence firm and then as the Director of Digital Forensics and Security for a multi-national investigative firm. Jack spent 15 years as an investigator with the United States Treasury Department and the United States Department of State. During his tenure as a special agent with the Treasury Department's Inspector General for Tax Administration, he served as one of four computer investigative specialists in the country. He was responsible for conducting computer forensic examinations, and directing investigations into computer intrusion and other computer related crimes. He also acted as a technical advisor to the agents and supervisors in the 11-state region that he covered.
While working as a special agent with the State Department's Diplomatic Security Service, Jack conducted criminal investigations related to the issuance of U.S. passports and visas, as well as counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence investigations. He also provided protective services for the Secretary of State and foreign dignitaries hroughout the world.
Jack is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Computer Forensic Professionals (ICFP). In addition, he is a former President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS). As the President and CEO, he oversaw the day to day operations of the organization as well the annual two week computer forensics conference held by the organization each spring. His former duties with IACIS also include, Vice President and Director of Training as well as the Chairman of the Certified Forensic Computer Examiner Training Program.
He holds designations as a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) as conferred by IACIS and as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) as conferred by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has taught computer forensics and computer security at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and has been a faculty member of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.
Jack?s public safety background as well as his training and experience in the area of computer forensics and security bring a unique perspective to the services offered by BK Forensics. His law enforcement experience and his reputation in the digital forensic field also allow him to liaison effectively with various law enforcement agencies on cases and matters of mutual interest.

Christopher Finley has been a resident of Pennsylvania since April of 2001. He previously resided in Tennessee. After receiving his Criminal Justice degree from Tennessee Technological University in 1997, Chris began his career as a private investigator.
Chris is a licensed private investigator in Tennessee and Pennsylvania and was previously licensed in Arkansas. In October of 2000, Chris established Germantown Legal Resources, Inc., a legal research firm located in Germantown, Tennessee. In order to fully direct his attention to his Pennsylvania clients, Chris resigned as President of GLR, Inc. in October of 2006.
In May of 2002, Chris established Finley Consulting & Investigations, Inc., located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Also known as The Finley Group, this office conducts investigations regarding civil and criminal matters for the insurance, legal and corporate communities, as well as private citizens of Pennsylvania. Chris specializes in physical surveillance, personal injury and due diligence investigations.
Chris is currently or has been a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Licensed Investigators (P.A.L.I.), American Society for Industrial Security, National Association of Investigative Specialists, ION, Inc., Association of Christian Investigators, Crime Prevention Association of Western Pennsylvania and the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce. Chris is also the Western Pennsylvania Regional Director for the Pennsylvania Association of Licensed Investigators.
Chris is recognized as a Certified Insurance Claims Investigator. He also attended and is a graduate of the Robert L. Oatman Executive Protection Program located in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Finley has attended and completed the John E. Reid and Associates basic and advanced courses of The Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation.
During his career as an investigator, Mr. Finley has worked in conjunction with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, Pennsylvania State Police, U.S. Attorney General?s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigations and various state and local law enforcement officials.

Cynthia Hetherington
Using Social Networking in Investigations

Cynthia Hetherington has more than 15 years of experience in research, investigations and corporate intelligence. She is the founder of Hetherington Group, a consulting, publishing and training firm focusing on intelligence, security and investigations. Cynthia most recently was the leader of Aon Consulting's Corporate Strategic Intelligence group.
Cynthia applies her expertise in library science and information systems to provide clients with strategic insight into research and complex investigations. During her career, she has assisted a vast number of clients with Internet investigations related to employee theft and intellectual property loss. Cynthia has also applied her research skills while conducting online and database research to uncover well-hidden relations between fraudulent associates, their assets and secrets. She has experience overseeing international investigations for Fortune 500 companies and other organizations in the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
A widely-published author, Cynthia authored Business Background Investigations (2007) and the Manual to Online Public Records (2008), published by Facts on Demand Press. She is the publisher of Data2know.com: Internet & Online Intelligence Newsletter and has co-authored articles on steganography, computer forensics, Internet investigations and other security-focused monographs. She is also recognized for providing corporate security officials, military intelligence units, and federal, state and local agencies with training on online intelligence practices. In addition, Cynthia is an adjunct faculty member at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, where she teaches a program on cyber counterterrorism investigations.

Nicole Bocra
Using Social Networking in Investigations

Nicole Bocra is a registered private investigator in Virginia and a licensed private detective in New Jersey. Nicole has over 13 years experience as an accountant and securities investigator including over six years with NASD. Her experience includes financial investigations, investigating potential stock market violations, mastering Internet ?tools of the trade? to develop complex cases and conducting in-depth analysis of documents. Nicole?s cases typically involve judgment enforcement, asset recovery, fraud, broker-dealer compliance, and difficult background and financial investigations.
Nicole was the lead investigator in a well publicized case against a high profile investment banker. She is a member of the National Association of Legal Investigators, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, National Council of Investigation & Security Services, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey Licensed Private Investigators Association, Professional Investigators and Security Association and the Private Investigators Association of Virginia. She holds a Bachelors of Science from the University of Hartford with a degree in Accounting. Nicole?s session, Advanced Internet Intelligence Gathering, will teach you research techniques and procedures along with the scope and capabilities of online systems and search tools that professionals use today.

Richard Walter
Investigating Sex, Murder & Mayhem

Richard D. Walter retired after more than 22 years as a Prison Psychologist for the Michigan Department of Corrections. He is an international expert in Crime Assessment, Profiling and Risk Evaluation. Walter has consulted with various agencies and governments in the United States, Great Britain, Australia, and Hong Kong. He lectures to law enforcement and academic groups on murder sub-types and signature aspects of interpersonal violence. He is the author and co-author of published and non-published articles relating to forensic casework. Also, he is a Co-founder of the Vidocq Society, a group comprised of 82 forensic specialists worldwide who assist local criminal justice agencies in solving cold cases.
By experience, the forensic skills offered were acquired through academic, collegial and ?hands on work?. From a practical perspective, he has interviewed thousands of felony prisoners. Additionally, he has advised on forensic cases relating to Bitemark Evidence, Child Abuse, Sexual and Non-sexual homicides, Auto-eroticism, Munchausen Syndrome, and in the areas of Clinical versus Meta-Sadism.
